hi guys,

i am obviously new to 'trading' know nothing about it and am trying to look around and learn a bit from the wonderful www

first ?, which is the best company to utilize for buying/selling stocks, gold and other related items. i see that scottrade has the 7$ a trade deal. what would you guys recommend. i am not looking to be a day trader by any means just maybe start with a 1k and mess around a bit until i learn more about the market.

I'm in the same situation, I've been reading this board for a while now and I just wanted to get your guys advice on a site to use to buy and sell stocks that charges the cheapest transaction fees and lowest commission. TIA

guys i just got started and the broker I would recommend to you is Trade King or zecco. Trade King's fees aren't worth it on penny stocks as they charge 1 cent a share on anything less than a penny but zecco is a flat $4.50 opinion the site is a little more confusing to navigate but you can't go wrong for a $4.50 commission fee

you have to determine what your goals are....are you a trying to start a retirement account? trying eek out a 10% return? trying to make double and triple short term?? each one of these has a different approach....let us know what your looking to do
